Luca Sforzini

Luca Sforzini is a psychiatrist and a researcher in the Stress, Psychiatry and Immunology Lab (SPILab) and Psychoimmunometabolix and Interaction with the Environment (PIXIE) Lab, at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London (KCL). He completed his medical degree and specialist training in psychiatry in Milan, Italy. He then moved to London, where he started a PhD under the supervision of Professor Pariante and Professor Mondelli at KCL, and Professor Cattaneo in Milan. His research is focussed on understanding the translational mechanisms of major depressive disorder (MDD) and treatment response in depression, with a particular interest on immune-related genes and pathways. His aim is to identify a transcriptional signature which might contribute to the phenotypic diversity of MDD and be targeted in future research and personalised interventions, towards a true precision medicine in psychiatry.
